Acts 17: 24, 25, 28 (NIV) says “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. … For in him we live and move and have our being.” Just as He has given each of us life and breath He will direct our every move if we are obedient in our walk with Him. In Proverbs 3:5&6, we are told to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and lean not on our own understanding, and He will make our paths straight by removing the obstacles that hinder us from being obedient to Him. By obeying Jesus’ commandment to love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength we will move into a deeper relationship with God. As we engage in the practice of spiritual disciplines regularly, we can change, with the power and grace of the Holy Spirit, sinful habits into good habits that make us more like Christ and connect us closer to God.

Dear Local AW Directors,

Your District Leadership Team has been in the process of evaluating our Alliance Women Ministries in the = Ohio Valley. Our National AWM Director, Susan Bernard, met with our district team and district superintendent, Rev. David Klinsing, for an entire day to evaluate our current status and develop a plan to improve women’s ministries in the Ohio Valley District. Since that time we have been in the process of making changes to work toward the goals that we have set.

One change that we made as of August 2009 was to do away with area leadership except for the area director position. Area Directors now have the title of Area Representative, and still serve on the district leadership team. Area treasurers were given until the end of 2009 to close out their accounts and send any monies in their general fund for deposit in our district expense fund. At this time I think that all of the transitions have been completed.

Another change is to our OUTFIT CALL CONTRIBUTION. Ongoing contributions are needed so that we have sufficient funds to meet the needs of missionaries who leave for their field of ministry or return on Home Assignment at various times of the year. A total contribution of $8000 per year is needed from our local Alliance Women groups to meet the Outfit Needs of our missionaries and their families. For example, your group may decide to give a sum of $400 or greater per year so you may send the total amount or a portion of that 2 or 4 times a year. Four dates are suggested: March, May, August, and November, but money can be sent at any time during the year.

Now all local contributions to the various funds should be sent to our current district treasurer, Gail Kirchner. Enclosed you will find information on the various funds that each local Alliance Women’s group is asked to support. Please read carefully and share this information with members of your local group. Also please provide a copy for the local treasurer.

I sincerely appreciate all of the local groups that have sent in contributions to our District Expense Fund and the National Ministry Fund, but monies are needed from several other groups. Please take note that there has been an increase from $5 to $8 per member of each local group to the District Expense Fund since the area dues were eliminated. Also the contribution to the National Ministry Fund is $50 instead of $20. The $50 could be given in increments of $25 twice a year.

The following is a list of due dates for monies. Please try to meet these deadlines so that there are sufficient funds to meet the all of the needs.

July 21-27 Bible and Missionary Conference at Beulah Beach
