Alliance
Girls
On Fire for Missions

Chicken Tikka Marsala, Lamb Curry, Rice, Flatbread, Chai Tea, and Biscuits are
just some of what was on tonight’s supper menu.
Did you know that if you are female in
India
, you have to wait until the men have eaten their fill of food?
And how about eating without forks, knives or spoons? -- and by the way,
you only eat with your RIGHT hand!
This is the experience that 15-18 young girls came into tonight at their
monthly Alliance Girls meeting, here in
Lexington
,
KY.
The meeting begins at 6pm and goes
until 8pm, on Friday nights, once a month. Their
goal is to learn about other countries, and to learn how to relate to people
with different cultural backgrounds.
One of the moms was dressed up in a sari.
Following the demonstration, the girls were invited to engage in a relay
race. Each one dressed up in a
sari…got her picture taken…then, QUICK, take the sari off and dress up the
next girl. First team that had
all their pictures taken, wins!
Dorothy Thomas, our speaker, told us that there are over a
1000 languages in
India
. And so, youu can imagine how hard
it is for people to communicate with each other.
Yet still, there are a lot of cross cultural ministries going on in
India
. Pray for many growing churches in
India
. And, especially pray for the
missionaries as they work with the Hindu and Muslim people in
India
.
